Pearadox to compete in world championship
The Pearland ISD Robotics Team, FRC Team 5414 Pearadox will compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) World Championship April 20-21 at the George R. Brown Convention Center where they will face off against 400 of the best robotics teams from across the globe.
To prepare for the world championship, the team competed in two regional competitions where they earned the Imagery Award and Entrepreneurship Award, placing as high as sixth and making the semi-finals.
Pearadox team members have spent countless hours heavily involved in demonstrations and community outreach to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
“Without Pearadox, I don’t know who I would be today,” team member Daniel Farner said. “I have built bonds with the people on this team – not just robots.”
On April 20-21, Pearadox competes from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and playoffs begin April 22, 9 a.m. On Saturday afternoon, the event moves to Minute Maid Park where attendees can watch the final matches to determine the world champions. The event is free and will also feature robotics competitions for students in grades kindergarten through ninth on the third floor of the GRB.
